Where do I skate?
During my whole life I have live in the city of Santiago the capital of Chile. I´m part of its urbanism and have been a user of public transportation since day one. Besides all of the problems of urban design and transportation, mainly, there is one that affects me the most and it corresponds to the lack of skateparks that there are in the city. Even though there are 10 skateparks in Santiago, it is not enough in comparison with the number of communes it has, which are 36. This issue affects many skaters here in the city because these skateparks are not strategically placed in order to be easier to go to skate. We as skaters need a physic place to practice our maneuvers and have fun, so these issue causes that we have to skate in other spots that are mainly used by pedestrians and other people and where is it forbidden for us to skate. Me as a skater don´t really need skateparks because its essential is to skate the streets which is where we mostly hang out, but for us as a community is very important to respect each other spaces, so as a solution it is necessary to build more skateparks in Santiago.

Up here there´s a photo of my favorite skatepark here in Santiago located in Av. Padre Hurtado 2650 and also a video for you to enjoy.
